How to clean wigs

Nowadays, wigs have become a must-have for trendsetters when going out. More and more people are wearing wigs, but how to maintain and recycle wigs is not that simple. Wigs are artificial hair that is fixed one by one on a headband, without the ability to regenerate. If stored improperly, one strand will be lost, and it will also be contaminated with bacteria and dust, causing damage to the scalp. Therefore, we need to regularly and correctly wash and maintain our wigs in order to better serve our daily use.

Firstly, we need to prepare the following items: wig, shampoo, conditioner, dry towel, comb, and a basin of water.

1. Before cleaning the wig, in order to make it smoother, we first hang the wig down along the hair strands, and then choose a wooden comb with looser teeth to comb and comb the wig. Remember not to use steel combs, plastic combs, etc. to prevent static electricity from causing knots.

2. Secondly, to expose the wig inside for better cleaning, the wig needs to be flipped from inside out.

3. Pour warm water at around 20-30 degrees Celsius into the basin. To protect the hair from excessive temperature, soak the wig in warm water for a few minutes first. Do not soak the wig for a long time to avoid deformation or even detachment.

4. Next, add a few drops of shampoo to the basin, stir by hand until slightly foamy, then put in the wig and clean it piece by piece in the direction of the wig by pressing. The technique must be gentle and avoid scrubbing or machine washing to prevent the wig from falling off. After washing thoroughly, add a few more basins of clean water to wash.

5. Add an appropriate amount of conditioner to the thoroughly rinsed wig, soak for a few minutes, and the conditioner has already melted into the hair. You can easily use a comb to comb the wig smoothly. Place the wig in water and gently rub it upwards from the tip of the hair until each hair is clean.

6. Take out the hair that has been washed 2-3 times and wrap it in a clean towel. Gently press the towel and flip it over to press the other side until it does not drip. Place it on a stand specifically designed for wig placement and let the wig hang down to dry naturally in a cool and ventilated place. Do not use a hair dryer or external force to blow dry, as this may damage the wig.

7. Do not comb synthetic fiber wigs while they are still wet, as this can affect their fluffiness. However, there is a type of wig that can be combed in semi wet conditions, which is a combination of synthetic fiber and human hair. So when the wig is completely dry, gently comb it with a wooden comb.

8. In order to maintain the gloss of the wig, spray the hair spray on the dry wig. The wig maintained in this way is both soft and bright.
